One idea for the vinyl cutter is to do a variation of this:

They use doilies and stuff, but how about schematic symbols. Use the vinyl to make resists, then bleach over them. You could do positive or negative images, use both parts of the stencil. A ring of led's around your neck, rectifier bridge on the upper back, battery symbol over your heart. Could be festive.
